Our Story
"All meaningful things begin with a feeling - a quiet pull toward something simpler, something truer. Rivendell began exactly like that."
We spent years dreaming of a place where the world could fall away completely. Not a place that just looked peaceful in photographs - but one that was genuinely, deeply still. Where the only sounds were river water over stone, birdsong, and the crackle of a fire at night.
We found that place where the Groot Brak and Klein Brak rivers meet, tucked into the mountains near George. We built Rivendell the way we would have wanted to find it - off-grid, unhurried, and entirely private. Three units, each with its own soul. Gondolin sits right on the river's edge in the valley below — off-grid, intimate, and entirely still. Lothlorien stands at the top of the valley with sweeping panoramic views, a covered patio, hot tub and braai. Arnor Cottage nestles alongside Lothlorien and is only available as part of that booking, so the privacy of the whole property is always preserved.
We built this for ourselves first. We share it with you now, and we hope it gives you what it gives us.
